I truly praise His name; his being!

There is only one truth, and to praise Him through it, is most gracious of you sister :-)

This is a very hard verse to translate, and there are various renderings, as seen on the references, but the end of it always is through our Eternal Sovereign !!

I am glad from your comment.
Thank you.

The ancient (2nd/3rd century) Sahidic Coptic version has "oucaris epma noucaris" here, whereas "caris" is loaned from Greek, and Coptic "epma" is a preposition that can mean "toward; regarding; concerning; instead of; in the place of" (Thomas O. Lambdin, "Introduction to Sahidic Coptic."

George Horner's English translation (c. 1910) gives "grace in the place of grace."

In my 2006 English Contemporary translation, I have rendered Coptic John 1:16 in this manner: "16. From his fullness we all received life, and divine loving-kindness upon divine loving-kindness."
